THE PROCESS is simple (and instructions will come with your shipment). First, rub the sample (jewelry, coin) onto the testing stone. This will leave a sample residue without damaging the gold; the sample residue is what you will test. Second, place a small drop of the testing solution that matches what you guess your gold to me (ie, if you think your bracelet is 14K gold, use the 14K solution). If the acid dissolves the sample residue, that means your sample is less pure than the karat value you tested for, and you should try again with lower level acid.
If it dissolves the residue slowly, it's possible your sample is only slightly ess pure that what you tested for.
If the sample residue remains unaffected, this means your gold matches the purity of the test you used.
